About the Workshop

Your Instructor

Stephanie Zonneveld

A parent worries about their child’s future and wants the best for them.  This includes a hope for their child to be happy and successful and have a full life.  What this looks like may be different for each person, but we hope they will have friends, financial security, a roof over their head, and activities that fulfill them, whether a job, or volunteering, and/or leisure pursuits.  As parents we do what we can to support our children and help them achieve these goals.  For children with a disability, we need to plan much more intentionally to ensure they have the greatest opportunity for a full life.  As Winston Churchill said: “Failing to Plan is planning to Fail”.

In this workshop, Stephanie will discuss the importance of advance planning and provide some insights into areas to consider to begin to take the steps required to set your child up for a full and meaningful life as an adult and in the case when you are no longer there.
