'Dufferin Parent Support Network' is becoming 'The Parent Support Network'
WHAT THIS MEANS:
Since 1999, the Dufferin Parent Support Network has been enhancing the lives of parents and caregivers across Dufferin County with our free workshops and online resources. It's been a journey filled with joys and beautiful moments, as we've had the privilege of making a real difference in the lives of families and their children.
Now, we're on the cusp of something truly special – our 25th anniversary! We're feeling quite pleased as we reflect on how far we’ve come. But even more thrilling is the adventure that lies ahead. As we gear up to celebrate this milestone, we're not just looking back - we're looking forward with boundless enthusiasm!
So, here's to new beginnings, to endless possibilities, and to another 25 years of sharing ideas, providing support and helping family and community relationships flourish. Cheers to us, to parents, and to the incredible journey ahead!

Name recognition / Memorability
The Dufferin Parent Support Network has been lovingly known as “DPSN” for quite some time now. While our shorthand is cozy, we've heard it too many times: "DPSN? What is that?". So we have decided to go into our next 25 years by using the name “The Parent Support Network” which will hopefully be easier for us all to remember and share with other parents and caregivers; and less likely to be confused with other organizations in the area.
Expanding our network and reach
Our Dufferin community is bursting with amazing parents and caregivers! Yet, our county lines might be drawing a bit too much of a line between us and our neighbors. Think about it – places like Belwood, Hillsburg, and Alton may be just a stone's throw away, yet they're technically outside of Dufferin County. We would never want any family to feel like they are not able to access the support and resources we provide based on where they live. So, we're breaking down those imaginary barriers with open arms and a big, welcoming smile. Whether you're from Dufferin or beyond, our programs are here for you. So, let's spread the love and expand our circle of support to embrace every corner of our vibrant community!

We're all about nurturing, guiding, and uplifting families through our programs. We're not just handing out information – we're fostering a Network where positive parenting skills flourish and where healthy connections grow. We hope that one day, every parent, grandparent, teacher, childcare providers and other professionals working with families in our community feels not only supported, but truly connected to one another. It's all about building bridges, spreading warmth, and creating a space where every parent feels empowered to thrive.

As we reflect on our journey, we're reminded of the importance of staying true to our core values, even as we evolve and grow. As we chart the course for our next chapter, rest assured that our commitment to Dufferin County remains steadfast. We have no plans to leave our community behind; instead, we are hoping to expand our horizons right here in Dufferin County by bringing fresh perspectives and introducing exciting new workshops, facilitators, and learning opportunities to our programming.
